First off, I think this one is my favorite of the Sins so far
Definition of Envy: A feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another.
I've been looking around - and I see a lot of people portray Envy as being Jealous and that the words can be interchangeable. But I was reading online and read that those are two different distinct emotions. You can read here about it: [link]
I decided to portray Envy as being sad, because when I think of Envy, I think of being unhappy. With Envy, you want what someone has, what ever it may be, and feeling that way will make you depressed about it. Ok, I'm done babbling xD Just wanting people to understand why I decided to have Envy sad, with a little mix of hatred too.
The "tears" are fake, I hope they look ok. I tried really hard with them, so please be kind
Well now the main comment: Although the skin color (edited or not) is the predominant one, green tones play a very important role, particularly on a black background which is wonderful to me... Indeed: I find that green and black go very well together.
The expression is awesome, fitting perfectly with the definition of the word: "Envy"... But not straigh out, I'd say in a more subtle way... Oh really awesome, wonderful work
Very well done this caught my eye I actually thought it was art, to be honest until I read your description. Your complexion is amazing, I love how you have changed everything to green. It makes a nice touch to the picture
I was looking through the sins you've done before and I think this one is betrayed best. Not sure compared with sloth but with the other ones definitely. If i'm ever feeling envious I can feel my face pulling this particular look, well done!
These just keep getting better and better! I'm always impressed with your approach to incorporate the color. I love the streaks in your hair and the subtle color on your nails. I like that you kept the gloss on your lips and the reflection in your eyes. It holds a little more realism to the shot than the others.
I didn't notice the tears until I read your description. Now that I see them, the picture takes on a more mournful gaze for me, as opposed to just "Why can't I?" expression. Lovely, lovely, lovely!
Oh! The colors are so pretty. Green is my favorite color, especially this shade. And the color of your eyes are gorgeous. It's very simple but exquisite at the same time. And how your nails are painted a very light shade of green ties up with the whole picture.
I don't like this one. I like the last Sloth you did, and am annoyed that you can't just put a piece up and stick with it. I liked the Sloth who was on her side. This does NOT look like envy. If it hadn't of been for your title, I wouldn't have known that it even was envy. The mouth is weird and swollen looking, the face lacks expression, and envious should be a bit slyer, meaner looking. Envious girls are more likely to put on a bitter expression. It just seems to me that all of your works are the same thing over and over. Nothing different. I'm giving you a critique, because frankly, you need one. I'm not trying to insult. =]
