Mood: Wow!

I can't even type what I'm feeling right now. I'm sick of being bothered on this site and I'm sick of this place being a popularity contest. This place should NOT be a popularity contest.

That's all I have to say, so stop asking me why my stuff gets on the popular page. Because guess what? I can't control it.

I mean isn't the whole point of dA to post art and ENJOY it? Critiques are always fine to me, but when all you say is, "Why is this on the front page?" What's the point of that? Does it make you feel better? People need to get over themselves and realize that being "popular" isn't important. Don't tell me I don't deserve the attention. I love it how it always seem to be the same people too...I don't usually block people from my page, but if you keep making the same comments on my art - you're getting blocked.

I enjoy making my work, I love it - and thank you to all my supporters

Everything I create on this site is definitely not perfect. Just remember people, it's not about the pageviews, or the favs, or the watchers, it's about the ART.

EDIT AGAIN: As some of you might have noticed, I got ride of my "Vanity" picture, not because of the negativity I was getting, but because I didn't like it anymore. The angle was bad, and the detail to the photo wasn't great. The skin color was a little weird too. Don't be disappointed. My new Vanity will be A LOT better, I promise. I just rushed it, and didn't put too much effort into it. I know I can do much better than that.

And I've read through most of the comments on this journal, not all of them yet (I should be going to bed soon) but thanks! I'm glad all of you agree

I was having a bad day, and I log on to see a bunch of people bashing my work. It's not the greatest thing to see, I don't usually let it bother me. But like I said, I wasn't happy to begin with.

I just got home from a White Sox game (they lost

but it was stil fun) and I was thinking during the game. That's when I decided that I should delete the "Vanity" picture. I'll just have to curl my hair again for you guys

Mood: Wow!

So yesterday I went to the Taste of Chicago. I'm so tired today!
I went with my sister and her boyfriend. It was such a beautiful day. It was sunny and warm out. When we got there, it was so crowded. We walked are way down to get ribs first and then....terror struck! People were running, screaming, trying to find a place to hide. Why? Because it was POURING. Buckets of rain coming down. And we were standing there getting ribs. I got ALL wet. It was horrible! So we got our ribs - covered them with napkins and tried to find a place to stay dry. Of course everyone was under something and we had to stand next to a tent trying to stay away from the rain. This one man in the tent next to use was really nice and asked us if we wanted to come in. He made room for us and we shuffled in. He was a giant! He had to be close to seven feet, he was holding up the flap so it covered us all in the tent. Minutes passed and the rain finally calmed down. And yay! On to the food! Even through it did rain a couple more times during the day - but not as bad. The food was wonderful - I had ribs, orange chicken, fried dough with powdered sugar, and watermelon italian ice. Ohh, everything was so good! You got food with tickets, but most things cost 10 tickets each. And we had 48 tickets.

They also had a concert with Josh Kelley and Plain White Tees, but I didn't get to see the The Plain White Tees! Josh Kelley song for like...an hour! He was really good, but I really wanted to see the tees. We had to leave for the train and we wanted to take the early one since less people would be on it. Oh well, it was still a good day. I'd probably never go again though - too crowded for me. This is Josh Kelley: [link] He's married to Katherine Heigl.

And of course there had to be some random guy screaming about God and holding a bible in his hand. No one paid attention to him, so he finally left. He scared me...

It was a good day though

I'm Back!

Mood: Wow!

I'm back from my trip, I have tons of photos and things to put up too

I think I will put up two a day. Right now I'm trying to clean up all my messages and deviations....and I have 32 notes to read through...I'll be busy for a while.

So when I was gone, I had this horrible dream! I tell you part of it, since it's was about this site. In my dream, before I went to work - I checked my dA page - and the first thing I noticed was that instead of having a "=" sign in front of my name I had a "{" sign. So I was like what? And then I see that half of my deviations have been deleted and the rest that where still there where all colored on with these bright colors. I started to freak out and realised my dA page had been hacked into. I was getting so stressed out...but then I woke up. At first I thought it was real - but then realized it wasn't. It was a big relief. I've never had a dream before about dA, I thought I tell you guys about it

I should have realized it was a dream, because I had raw meat sitting on my desk in my dream - my dreams are always a little weird xD

I'm tired....now I will try to clean up my messages - sorry if you are waiting for a reply and don't get one. I have over 300 comments, I can't read all of them. Send me a note if you have a question.

I've been here for four years...

Mood: Wow!

What? Is it true? Yay! I've been here for four years! Man, I can not believe it. When I signed up here, I was 14...now I'm 18.I have left this site a few times, but I always came back. You can see my previous journals where I'm like, "I'm back!" and "I'm back again!...sorry that I left!" In truth, I only really got active again this January at this site. And then I only had around 5,000 page views and about 50 watchers xD, and which most of them were gone. Now...I have over 370,000 page views and almost 8,000 watchers

I still can not believe it! Nor did I ever think it was possible...it just amazes me. I really hope that people continue to love my work and enjoy it. I know I love to create it!

As some of you saw, I have a new style that I like to improve on:

I've always wanted to try it out, because I see some amazing photo manipulations like this. Of course, mine is not perfect...but oh well! The lighting is off...but I'm sticking to my story that either a lighting bolt just struck behind her, or there is a building behind her. xD Yep, the lighting is perfect, you don't know what could be behind her!! Just kidding

And now after my happy celebration of four years, a little rant (don't worry it's small!)

I'm not going to make anymore eye art, I know some of you will be sad, but it's just getting too repetitive. And too much attention too - sorry but I work harder on other things, and I wish they got that many favs. And I'm sick of people asking me why I do just eyes, JUST eyes. When that's not even true. I don't want to be remembered as the girl who does eyes, so it's done! I'm sorry, but no more eyes people. I need to improve my work, so it's for the better. I had fun making them though, and it was good practice learning how to work with photos.

And one other thing. No offense to anyone BUT, please please read my description before you comment and ask questions! Example - my 'Wolf' deviation, people actually thought it was a wolf - and were confused on how did I get that close to it. It's a dog, and I didn't even take the picture! And on my latest deviation, I think some people actually think it's me or someone I know, and several asked me where I got the green dress! I guess it's flattering that people actually think it's a real photo - it does make me happy that I did a good job that people would think that, but I really wish people took the time to read my description. Thank you to everyone who does, I can always tell when someone reads it :3 So, just quickly read through it before you ask /rant

I just needed to get that out of my system! Don't worry, I'm usually a happy person...it's just it's that time of the month where I'm irritated

YAY FOR FOUR YEARS!!

EDIT: I will still complete the Seven Deadly Sins - eyes and faces are not the same thing, silly people!

Another EDIT 06/21/08: I'm leaving tomorrow to go to a relative's house, I dunno if they have an internet connection - so I might not be back on here until wednesday of thursday - so sorry no more art until then!

The Seven Deadly Sins

Mood: Adoration

As you can guess by the title...I'm going to start my next series! The seven deadly sins xD So many people have asked me to do this.

This one is going to be a lot of fun, and since I've gotten better at photo manipulation, I think this series will come out great. I will have to try a different style too, still the same, but better!

Ok I have to do:

Lust - Red
Gluttony - Pink
Pride - Purple
Sloth - Blue
Wrath - Darker Red/Black
Envy - Green
Greed - ? Gold maybe...maybe green...

Now I have to figure out how I'm going to model each one. Some people suggest I use different models, but I can't ever find what I want! It's easier for me to be the model, that way I get the expression I want. But I'm excited to get started!

EDIT:

So the votes are in! And like it was expected lust was first and wrath followed.

BUT....someone suggested this to me and I thought it was a wonderful idea. The most wanted ones will come last, so you'll all have to wait to see lust xD

Here's the order:

Gluttony

Greed

Sloth

Pride

Envy

Wrath

Lust

And by the way, it will be faces, not eyes. That way - it will show more emotion.
